Dear Taste Buds!
We are excited to welcome our seventh cohort of Apprentices as part of the Fort Worx Accelerated Foodservice Apprenticeship Program. Fort Worx is a collaboration between Taste Project, the Tarrant Area Food Bank, the Culinary School of Fort Worth, and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County. Fort Worx is the first program of its kind offering paid work experience as part of a tuition-free American Culinary Federation certified program.
Starting on Tuesday, May 23rd you will see four new faces regularly in the Kitchen at Taste Community Restaurant. Jordiin, Keith, Lori, and Tami will be joining us full-time for the next 8 weeks.
Chef Danielle Roberts will be supported by our two Sous Chef Apprentices Dom and JJ who will assist in the execution of our Foodservice Apprenticeship Program and our daily pay-what-you-can meal services while studying for the Sous Chef Certification through the Culinary School of Fort Worth.
Additionally, Lorna Benes will be supporting our Apprentices by providing Life Skills Training including resume building, and interview skills. Lorna has a background in Human Resources, is a graduate of the Culinary School of Fort Worth, and is a fellow Taste Bud. Lorna's cross section of skills will help ensure our Apprentices are successful.
I am excited to see all that God has in store for these Apprentices. Please join me in welcoming and supporting our newest cohort of Apprentices over the next 8 weeks and in their life-long success.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Williams
Founder and Executive Director
